About the Game

Scrubby Shrimp is our entry for Ludum Dare 56—a quirky 2D adventure where you play as a tiny shrimp with a big responsibility: cleaning algae from an aquarium. Swim, flip, and leap through tight spaces as you dodge obstacles and scrub the tank clean using your shrimp’s surprisingly acrobatic skillset.

Simple to pick up but tricky to master, Scrubby Shrimp is all about movement, momentum, and precision in a playful underwater setting.

Gameplay

Objective: Clean as much algae as possible from the aquarium.
Challenge: Navigate tight spaces, avoid obstacles, and control your shrimp’s movement with precision.
Movement Focus: Master flips, jumps, and rotations to reach hard‑to‑clean areas and keep your cleaning streak alive.

Instructions

  • Move: WASD to swim through the tank

  • Jump: Spacebar to leap over barriers and collect algae

  • Rotate: E and Q to flip and turn through tight corners

Your mission? Clean as much algae as possible while perfecting your shrimp’s flips and jumps. Can you become the ultimate tank cleaner?
